The Trojan Horse
You can listen to The Trojan Horse on the Podcast. Why not, right?
Here's just a tad more about Queneau's The Trojan Horse from the notes in Stories and Remarks (and you should use that link to buy a copy from a local independent bookseller)
Le Cheval troyen was written in 1948 and published the same year as a book by Éditions Georges Visat. Another somewhat snobbish mammal (Queneau's characters like mentioning their pedigrees), this story is actually based on a real-life incident. As Jacques Bens first told it, the tale took place with a black man; Queneau, fearuing he would be suspected of racism, changed the character into a horse (Temps mêlés: Documents Queneau no. 150 + 17-18-19 [April 1983]).
